Cameron Interiors February Report

1. First thing to report is after the changes in December the visits dropped as you can see in first screen grab. This will have happened as a lot of the SEO disappeared when the site had such a big revamp in December for the advert campaign (it appears the 301 redirects I mentioned are not so good when used in bulk). So I had to come up with an alternative. This one is working very well and is looking better. I created templates for both the products and collections that were 'hidden' but had good search terms and they have started coming back to google. But this way when the visitor finds them and clicks they land on what looks like the front page but it's not redirecting. It's really designed to get all the SEO and search terms back but look like the home page. You can see in the second screen grab how it's coming back. This is a biggie and quite chuffed with what I came up with (even if I do say so myself) :)

2. I've also created European and International markets (with the German and Italian translations) but what this does is it creates slightly different URL's for everything already on the site. This increases the chances of Google finding and indexing it and then Shopify detect where this visitor is from and send them to the site version/language that's appropriate.

3. I finally updated your 'Prestige' theme to the current version. I had been putting this off as it meant re-doing a lot of the code edits as it's a clean code that gets put in. But after a few updates releases this one was worth it. The theme designers are good at keeping up with Google and Shopify changes also and the main ones were Site Speed and a thing called Shopify Editions (lots of tweaks from Shopify especially if and when you get to actually selling any 'products'.

4. This one will probably sound a bit weird to you but I sent everything to Google Shopping and tweaked all the 'products' into the different Google Categories. The reason for doing this is it's basically another way to get found on Google. Folk will 'shop' for kitchens or bathrooms or whatever. It also seems to link in well with Google image returns.

5. I've been testing the new SEO with other kind of terms I could come up with to see if the new way was actually working. Trying to think out the box a bit but could do with a list of anything you come up with also. I've just taken out a subscription with 'Moz' which is basically site that I can check competitors search terms with so feel free to send over a list of competitors but this should cover them from the technical side. I've stuck in some google results with the terms I was trying out
